 Moon´s phases - 4th graders

Hi there!!! In this post I´m gonna share pictures that could be useful for your Social Sciences lesson about the Moon´s phases. Are you ready? Let´s see them in depth.


1. Solar system

This first picture shows the Solar System. Thanks to this picture, we could be able to review the planets´ order in the Solar System. What´s more, you will see the different sizes of each planet!!!!

2. Phases of the Moon

This time, I have choosen a drawing as picture. It could be used as a way to support our explanation of why each phase of the Moon happens. It can be observed that depending on the position of the Sun, Moon and the Earth, we see each different "face" of the Moon.

In this picture, it can be seen a more real image about what was previously explained. Thanks to this picture, students will be able to relate their experiences with what they have seen in real life.

Finally, I would like to show my students an eclipse´s image. This is something that children really like. This photo can be used to motivate our students explaining something new they are not used to experience.

* It lets others use someone´s work and do things with it without having any problems

  What do animals eat? Good afternoon colleagues! How is everything? I´m back after Easter holidays.  This has been a very fantastic week dealing with... ANIMALS. I´m teaching it in 2nd grade.  They love this subject, but it is true that they tend to go a bit crazy trying to talk about their experiences with animals. This week we have been dealing with the subject of what animals eat, which in my view is one of the most "boring" parts regarding to  animals as it does not have too much content. I've been mulling over the idea of how I could teach it in an engaging way. Infographics in the classroom

  USING INFOGRAPHICS  Hi there!! Welcome to a new post. Today I would like to tell you a bit about infographics. Infographics is the visual representation of information, which in this case will make our students understand the contents much better. To achieve the objective that our students understand something better with its use, we will have to take into account that our infographics must have a balance of colours, be visually attractive, and have legible text. Nowadays there are a large number of applications that we can use to create our infographics. Some examples are the following: Easel.ly, Piktochart, Canva, Smore, Tackk, Mural.ly, Padlet. In my case I have used Canva. I consider it to be one of the best apps we have today. It's a very intuitive application for people who don't understand much about ICTs. Creating comics

  Creating comics Hi there!!! Here´s a new post. Have you ever thought about making comics for your classroom and didn't know how? Today I bring you the solution. I have discovered that there are several websites that allow you to do this. Some of these are: Pixton, Creaza, StoryboardThat. I have been exploring some of the apps. I have to say that some of them require a fee, others are not very visual... that's why I used StoryboardThat. As I've told you before, the use of technology is not my thing, so I try to use easy apps.  What I liked the most about this app is the amount of backgrounds available to make your comics much more real, you can also change all the colours... If I have to highlight something that I didn't like it was the few expressions that you can change to the characters.
